Jewish Man, 22, ID'd As Bicyclist Struck, Killed While Riding On Busy Baltimore County Road

A young Jewish man was killed while riding his bike after dark in Baltimore County, authorities say.

Police were called to the scene in the 1800 block of Reisterstown Road shortly after 10 p.m., Monday, Feb. 20 after receiving reports of a bicyclist who had been struck by a vehicle, according to a Baltimore County Police Department spokesperson.

The bicyclist was later identified as Chaim Cohen, 22, by the Baltimore Police Department. 

Cohen was reportedly riding his bike north on Reisterstown Road when he was fatally struck from behind by a 2017 Dodge Charger.

Cohen was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Charger reportedly remained on the scene after the incident, police said. 

Chaim Cohen was the son of Dovid and Laya Cohen, and the brother of Rivky Josephs, Mordechai Cohen, Goldie Cohen, and Aviva Cohen, according to the Yeshiva World. 

The crash is still under investigation.
